September 20, 2006—For the second consecutive year, SeamlessWeb, the nation’s leading online food ordering service, was named to Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program for the New York Region, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies in the area by professional services firm Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2001 and $5 million in 2005; be headquartered in North America; and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues, or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
"This recognition is a tribute to the continued hard work and diligence of our employees who work tirelessly to deliver excellent services to our clients, our customers and our vendor partners," said Jason Finger, president of SeamlessWeb. "We are honored to once again be on such a distinguished list of technology innovators."
SeamlessWeb offers a Web-based system that allows businesses and individuals to order food and other services from local restaurants, caterers, in-house food service providers, and other vendors. It delivers speed, convenience, flexibility, security and service excellence to consumers, while streamlining billing and reimbursement processes, controlling expenses, and reducing administrative overhead for businesses. Restaurants and vendors participating in the SeamlessWeb network also benefit from additional opportunities to market and sell their offerings to SeamlessWeb’s targeted consumers and develop a sophisticated web presence capable of e-commerce transactions.
The list is the latest of several prestigious national recognitions the company has received. SeamlessWeb was named to Time magazine’s 50 coolest Web sites for 2006, and it was named to Inc. magazine’s 2006 list of 500 fastest-growing private companies in America.
