My Most Favorite Food is a unique restaurant, café and caterer, conveniently located near the theater district, Times Square and Rockefeller Center.

Depending upon the season, tables for summer and fine-weather outdoor dining, adorn the street. The restaurant is on the first level of an elegant glass and stone modern high-rise building, with recently painted orange walls to complement their new name. Floor-to-ceiling windows that look onto 45th Street ensure an attractive and airy dining experience. A sleek black bar center stage, contrasts beautifully with the white linen tablecloths.

The reason for the success of My Most Favorite Food is no secret: carefully prepared food of the highest quality at reasonable prices, a can-do approach where anyone's special request is handled immediately, and a new way of thinking which insures the customer all the comforts and joys that can be had while dining in New York City.

Recommended dishes are the Crispy Mushroom Roll and Grilled Salmon which can be enjoyed with one of their wines from an extensive selection. Of course, be sure to try any of their famous homemade desserts. It’s very common for theater-goers before and after the show to stop in and get a quick fix of their most favorite desserts.

It all started back 28 years ago, when owner Doris Schechter had a bakery in Great Neck, New York. With a line of products that tasted home-baked, she quickly outgrew that first space. In 1982, Ms. Schechter moved into Manhattan. Response to her products by Manhattanites was fabulous, with a review in The New York Times by food critic Florence Fabricant and “A-plus for quality” in The Daily News by Arthur Schwartz. The response in the Zagat Survey was also positive: “Great assortment of excellent kosher baked goods” and “forget the calories and eat like a kid.”

Over the years, with help from Ms. Schechter's new partner Scott Magram, they began to offer a full restaurant menu - breakfast, lunch and dinner - to complement the bakery line. The restaurant became an instant success and they could barely keep up with the crowds.

Eggplant Rollatine-- Stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped with melted mozzarella and tomato sauce

Salad Nicoise-- Lemon marinated grilled tuna, poached potatoes, sliced eggs, haricot verts, roasted peppers and cherry tomatoes with creamy lemon dressing

Wild Salmon Caesar Salad

Fettuccine Francais-- Wild salmon, broccoli, and Parmesan cheese in a light cream sauce

Grilled Ahi Tuna-- Sautéed bok choy, mashed potatoes, frizzled leeks and a shallot port wine sauce

Potato Crusted Cod served in an individual casserole with a Béchamel sauce

Roasted Chilean Sea Bass-- Sweet mashed potatoes, haricot verts and a lemongrass ginger broth

White Chocolate Mousse Cake-- Layers of chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and white chocolate shavings

Cheese Cake-- Plain, marble or chocolate chip

Strawberry Shortcake-- Layers of vanilla cake with fresh whipped cream and fresh strawberries
