The name “Joy” was derived from a shortened: “Enjoy.” The owner, Abu, hoped to open a restaurant with good quality food that anyone could enjoy by pricing it reasonably. He suggests you try the Chicken Shaslick which is a dish featuring barbeque marinated white meat chicken grilled with tomatoes and onions.
The owner, Abu, of Joy Curry came to the United States in 1988 from Bangladesh and began working in Curry in a Hurry. After almost two years of experience there, Abu and the owner left to open a new restaurant where he worked as a manager until January of 1993. After a brief stint as a travel agent and passing by a “For Rent” sign, he decided to return to the restaurant industry and pursue his dream of running his own business.
Saag Paneer—Cottage cheese sautéed with lightly spiced spinach
Kadi Paneer—Cottage cheese cooked in fresh ginger and green pepper
Tandoori Lamb Chop—Lamb chop marinated with Indian spices
Lamb Bara Kabab—Boneless cubes of lamb seasoned with mustard and herb sauce
Chicken Boti Kabab—Cubed chicken seasoned with yogurt and spices
Chicken Shashlik—Marinated chicken breast broiled in Tandoor with onion, green pepper and tomatoes.
Chicken Tikka Masala—Marinated pieces of boneless chicken broiled in tandoor and lightly cooked with tomatoes, spices and herbs in thick gravy
Chicken Vindaloo—Hot chicken dish cooked in light sauce with spices
The customer service over the phone was not the greatest, but decent. The time to deliver was exceptional. Also the food is very reasonably priced and you get good portion, it is halal as well, and the taste was very good. I had the Chicken Makhani Platter and would recommend it to anyone.

Love the food at Joy so we order lunch every few days. However, we are yet to see our order fulfilled correctly. There is always something missing in the order. We end up calling them to ask for the missing items, but by the time they are able to get these to us, either the food is too cold or we are done eating. The last time I ordered, they missed one nan and lychee juice. The time before that, all nans were missing and prior to that, one entree was missing. I would encourage the guys to review orders carefully before sending them out. However, if the right stuff does make it to you, you won't be disappointed!

Food is fine but the delivery is horrible. They do not package the drinks properly so the drink is often spilt into the food. I end up having mango lassi flavored lamb saag. Note to the owners: please use a more secure lid or tape the lid to prevent spilling.

Fast Service and Yummy Indian food!

Food that is usually hot and delicious was just barely warm this time around. I give it a two. Service was horrible. My "future order" that was placed at 7:25 for an 8:45 delivery was more than likely attempted as an ASAP delivery. The operator didn't seem to understand that they brought it too early when I called them at 8:25 just to let them know my meeting ended early and I could accept delivery earlier than originally expected. That's 10 minutes of my life that wonlt get back. 1 for service this time around.... I will use them again though. Sounded like someoe new there that didn't quite understand the future delivery thing.

VERY GOOD VALUE. Not the finest Indian food in the neighborhood, but very good for the price. You won't be dissappointed.

I got the chicken Tikka masala w/ aloo gobi mutter. It was good, I would order it spicy next time just b/c it was a little mild for me. The nann was good but a littlel soggy (I guess this just happens w/ takeout ) The yogurt sauce was a little sweet but tasty. The aloo was good a little on the salty side. Portion was large and I felt like it was a good value for dinner.

I order lunch from Joy Curry a lot. The Non-Vegetarian Joy Platter (with Chicken Tika Masala and Palak Paneer) is a high-quality food and a great deal for $8.50. With tax and tip, it comes out to about $10. It's so good, in fact, that I just saved the meal as a SeamlessWeb favorite!

I really like the food, the vegetarian lunch special was fresh and not to overcooked or oily but very well spiced. They did no follow my preparation instructions though.

Tandori Chicken had CLEARLY been stored overnight & reheated; dry as a bone. Not good.

Consistently LATE LATE deliveries. Food's good, but it's not that good.

The worst indian food I have ever eaten. The chicken korma has no flavor, the nan is soggy, and the rice pudding is a soup! Not to mention that the delivery time took longer than the estimate, and the order did not arrive with all items as stated on the menu.

I used to like this place, but recently they've used so much salt in everything that the food's almost inedible.

Best Chicken Vindaloo I've had since London. Great white-meat chicken in a spicy sauce - not too spicy but hot. Definitely better than what you can get at Grand Central. The Chicken Tika is OK but a little blander than I like. Delivery was fast.

cheap and good but excessive oil is used in preparation.

Good service and food. It is spicy. Also this food is very oily. So, not for diet conscious people

the veggie combo meal was excellent, ordered fish tikka another time and it was about half the portion of the veggie combo

Having eaten chicken tikka masala in London--where the dish was created--I know that it does not need to be a bland, dry abomination. So does the chef at Joy Curry. Simply outstanding, spicy (without being overly hot) tender and luscious. About 90% as good as London, and eat a plate of this curry and you will remember it for 24 hours! Yum!

The food is a great bargain. Most of the food is excellent - except for the Saag Paneer (that recipe needs some work).

Food is very good. But items are often spilled inside bag.
