Jaiya means the celebration of victory. Come in and understand the meaning as you enjoy a world of Thai cuisine like no other. With two beautiful locations in New York, Jaiya has obtained their reputation for great food over the past thirty years.
In 1978, Wane and Pok opened up their first restaurant in the heart of Elmhurst, Queens. Jaiya became one of the first restaurants to debut Thai cuisine to the western culture. With their passion for food and love of teaching customers what Thai cuisine is all about, Jaiya became the word of mouth around the community. Since then they have expanded into two locations around New York with a clientele all over the United States and overseas.

If I could give Jaiya less than zero stars I would. Every dish I ordered had so many raw onions and so little meat or seafood I couldn't eat them. It was the most disgusting Thai food I have ever received. Apparently they try to make up for their lack of cooking skills by putting so many raw onions and spices in that your taste buds instantly go numb. Considering the great Thai options in NYC there is no reason to ever order from here.

Disgusting and uneatable. The spring rolls tasted like they were fried in yesterday's oil and still had no crunch. And the duck in oyster sauce was quite honestly one of the the most awful dishes I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. Will never order from here again.

Although the food from this restaurant is actually quite good, the service is absolutely atrocious. We would quite happily rate this much, much higher if it wasn't because of the major issues we experienced this evening. We ordered over $50 worth of food, yet there was no rice delivered (even though an extra portion was ordered). After calling them and requesting that they send an additional three rice portions, a delivery person turned up with two portions and requested payment. Considering the few dollars a couple of pints of rice actually cost, we find that this attitude is unbelievable. Frankly, we will not be using this establishment again. Bottom line: don't bother with this place until they have improved their customer service. There are other, equivalent or better restaurants out there that don't treat their customers like this.
